Omegle is fun because it's open: anyone can talk to anyone. That only works if everyone sticks to a few rules. By starting a chat, you agree to the terms below. Don't agree? Then please don't use Omegle.

18+ only

You must be at least 18 to use Omegle. If you're younger, close this page. Anyone who looks underage gets removed.

How Omegle works

Omegle connects you to a random person who chose the same mode. We don't verify who anyone is, so the stranger may not be who they claim to be. We also can't promise there's always someone to talk to.

Omegle is provided as is. It may go down, and features may change or disappear without notice.

Don't do this

On Omegle you may not:

  • Show nudity, perform sexual acts or talk about sex, on cam or in the chat.
  • Involve minors in anything sexual. This is reported to the police, every time.
  • Harass, threaten or insult people, spread hate, or push someone to do something they don't want to.
  • Show violence, self-harm, weapons used to intimidate, or drug use.
  • Ask for money, gifts, pictures or personal details, or run any kind of scam or blackmail.
  • Advertise, spam, post links, or use bots and scripts.
  • Record strangers and post it anywhere without their consent.
  • Impersonate someone else, or dodge moderation or a block.

Omegle records and moderates

Everything is recorded: the chat, your voice and your video. Recording starts when you press start, so it includes the time you spend waiting for a stranger. Moderators can watch recordings and live chats without you being told. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Break the rules and you're out

We can end any chat and block you from Omegle, without warning. Illegal content, and anything involving the sexual abuse of a child in particular, goes to the police together with the recording and your IP address.

You're responsible for you

What you say and show is on you. Strangers on Omegle don't work for us and we're not responsible for their behaviour. If a chat feels wrong, leave: Esc or Stop ends it on the spot.

To the extent the law allows, Omegle isn't liable for any damage from using the site or from contact with other users.

Updates

These terms can change. The date at the top tells you when they last did; if you keep using Omegle after that, you accept the new version.
